New Age Spirituality – Morning Has Been All Night Coming ( Part 87 )

By John Harricharan

All went well, and after dealing with some general questions about routine business matters, the meeting came to an end. I said good-bye and then quickly made my way through the lobby and out of the hotel. There, leaning against a lamppost stood Gideon. Marla was waiting next to him. I approached them.

“Marla, Gideon!” I exclaimed above the noise of the city.

“Hi, John,” said Marla. “Right on time.”

“Good,” said Gideon. “Let’s go to our next appointment.”

“You found me again,” I said.

“Sometimes it’s easier to find others than it is to find ourselves,” Gideon replied with that inscrutable smile of his.

I followed them to a waiting taxi, and within a few minutes we found ourselves in front of an impressive building located on a side street. Gideon paid the fare, and we got out and walked through the door into the lobby. We took the first available elevator to the 33rd floor.I remembered this from years earlier and was somewhat surprised that nothing had changed. We walked into the reception room, where Marla asked us to sit. She went to the receptionist, whispered something in hushed tones and rejoined us.

“We’ll soon be in the presence of the Chief,” she said. Only now did the full impact of what we were doing strike me. Once again, I would be meeting with God face to face. Once again, I would have the opportunity to ask Him questions concerning the past, present and future. Perhaps He would explain why we must go through life struggling at every turn. Perhaps He would even tell me about Mardai and why she had to leave this life at such a young age. My thoughts were running wild when Gideon’s voice brought me back to the present moment.

“John,” he said in a kind and loving way,“you’re a bit nervous. Calm yourself. This meeting will do you quite some good. There’s nothing to be afraid of. If anything, you’ll leave here feeling more confident and more in control of the events in your life.”
